In a candid conversation, Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali reflected on his journey as an international cricketer and the recent setbacks faced by the national team.

Recalling Pakistan's early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024, Hasan termed it a "black day for Pakistan cricket," emphasizing the need for significant improvements across all aspects of the game.

Pakistan's campaign ended prematurely after defeats to the USA and India in their initial matches. Despite victories against Canada and Ireland, Pakistan finished third in Group A, one point shy of the USA, leading to their early elimination.

This unexpected result sparked intense criticism from former cricketers and experts, who demanded substantial changes within the squad.

Reflecting on his early days, Hasan admitted, "When I became a national player, I knew nothing about fitness. We just did 5 laps, 10 laps, 15 laps. It was only after joining the national team that I realized the importance of gym work, strengthening my legs, improving my posture, and addressing weaknesses in my shoulders and back."

Hasan, who debuted in domestic cricket in 2013, acknowledged the progress made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in recent years.

"A lot of things have improved in domestic cricket, but there is still much to be done. Players must be fit enough before stepping into international cricket."

Hasan Ali called for further enhancements in domestic cricket, ensuring players are better prepared for the rigors of the international stage.
