Jasprit Bumrah is likely to return to the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp ahead of their upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), scheduled for April 7 at Wankhede Stadium. Bumrah has been out of action since January due to a back injury he suffered during the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Sydney.

After months of rehab, he has now received a fitness clearance from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence medical team.

Jasprit Bumrah Expected To Join MI In Next Few Days

Although he’s expected to rejoin the team in the next couple of days, he may not play the match against RCB. The Mumbai Indians management wants to be cautious and will monitor his fitness during two simulation games before giving him the green light to play. If everything goes well, Bumrah could make his IPL 2025 return in the match against Delhi Capitals on April 13.

Known for his ability to bowl tight overs in the death, Bumrah’s presence is a big boost for MI. He has taken 165 wickets in 133 IPL matches with an impressive average of 22.52. His return is important not just for MI’s IPL campaign, but also for Team India, who are set to face England in a five-Test series after the IPL.

Mumbai Indians In IPL 2025 So Far

Meanwhile, MI are not having a great season so far. Out of the four matches they’ve played, they have managed to win only one and are currently sitting in seventh place on the points table. They began their season with a loss to Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who beat them by four wickets. After that, Gujarat Titans handed them another defeat. MI did bounce back with a solid win over the defending champions, winning by 8 wickets.

However, they lost their momentum again in a close match against Lucknow Super Giants, where they fell short by just 12 runs.

With Bumrah likely to return soon, fans are hopeful that his presence can help turn things around for MI.
