Virat Kohli has silenced critics with a thunderous return to form in IPL 2025, amassing 443 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 138.87, including six half-centuries. The ex-RCB skipper, now third on the Orange Cap list, has anchored the team’s batting with unwavering consistency, proving his dominance despite occasional struggles in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and the Champions Trophy.

Virat Kohli's resurgence in the IPL underscores his ability to reinvent himself as he blends his elegant stroke-play with his evergreen aggression to counter bowling attacks on the field.

Kohli Eyes Historic 8500-Run Milestone

The RCB star Virat Kohli is now poised to become the first player in IPL history to breach the 8,500-run mark. With 8,447 runs in 262 matches, Kohli needs just 53 more to etch his name in the record books.

Since his IPL debut in 2008, he has redefined consistency, averaging 39.47 with a staggering 8 centuries and 61 fifties. A milestone against CSK at Chinnaswamy, his fortress, would be a poetic addition to his legacy.

Notably, Rohit Sharma is tailing the RCB star for now with 6921 runs and unfortunately is almost 2000 runs short to even come close to his national side teammate.

Kohli Overcoming Slump with IPL Heroics

Meanwhile, Kohli’s dip in form during the BGT and Champions Trophy had raised questions about his T20 future. However, the IPL stage has reignited his spark.

Shedding the weight of past setbacks, he has emerged as RCB’s linchpin, blending intent with responsibility. The chase-master has been making statements with his explosive 70 (42) and 73 (54) against RR and PBKS respectively and a 53-run should not be a problem for the star in RCB's home ground.
