India unlikely to tour Bangladesh [Source: @mufaddal_vohra/x.com]
The recent cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, and now with Bangladesh in the scheme of things has put India's white-ball tour of Bangladesh in jeopardy. The Men's team was set to travel to their Asian neighbour for a white-ball series, comprising of three ODIs and three T20Is in August.
However, the recent unsettling events has put everything under dark clouds as India is now unlikely to travel to Bangladesh for the tour.
"The tour is a part of the calendar, but nothing is final yet. There is a bright chance of India not touring Bangladesh for the white-ball tour," a source said to TOI.
In the light of the recent attacks in Pahalgam, India have suspended all ties with Pakistan, and now reportedly, Bangladesh has given its support to Pakistan, and this is one major reason why India is likely to cut all ties with Bangladesh as well.
Asia Cup 2025 in trouble as well
Not only the Bangladesh tour, but the Asia Cup, which is set to take place after the Bangladesh series is also under the scanner. The Indian government is taking tough decisions and playing cricket with neighbours is one harsh decision which is on the cards as well.
No venue has been finalised for the event, but with turmoil going on between India and Pakistan, it is unlikely that the event will happen and there seems no chance that India and Pakistan will play a cricket match in a near future. Even if the event happens, it will most likely take place in hybrid model.
