Mumbai Indians (MI) stormed to the top of the IPL 2025 table with a commanding 100-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium, equaling their historic six-match winning streak from 2008 and 2017.

However, keeping aside the win, Rohit Sharma was seen sharing some blissful moments with the Rajasthan royals' Wonderkid Vaibhav Suryavanshi who had a dismal outing tonight.

Rohit Sharma's Class Act with Suryavanshi

Amid the ruthless contest, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma showcased his mentorship, approaching the 15-year-old Suryavanshi post-match. Photographs captured the MI captain shaking hands with the teenager, exchanging words of encouragement after his tough outing.

The gesture, warm and fatherly, highlighted Rohit’s reputation for nurturing young talent, even in the heat of competition.

MI Dominates Rajasthan In Six-Match Winning Spree

Chasing MI’s formidable 217/2, built on Rohit Sharma’s anchoring 53 (36), Ryan Rickelton’s explosive 61 (38), and late fireworks from Suryakumar Yadav (48* off 23) and Hardik Pandya (48* off 23), RR crumbled to 117 all out in 17 overs, officially bowing out of the season.

The match saw RR’s batting lineup dismantled by MI’s relentless attack. Trent Boult (3/28) struck early, removing teen prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi for a two-ball duck, while Jasprit Bumrah (2/15) and Karn Sharma (3/23) decimated the middle order. Jofra Archer’s gritty 30 (27) was the lone resistance.

MI Eliminates RR From Playoff Race

RR’s hopes nosedived early as Deepak Chahar trapped Suryavanshi lbw, triggering a collapse. Yashasvi Jaiswal (13 off 6) flickered briefly before Boult uprooted his stumps. Bumrah’s double-wicket over—dismissing Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer—sealed RR’s fate.

Karn Sharma polished off the tail, while Hardik Pandya and Boult shared three scalps. With this win, MI (14 points) solidified their playoff credentials, while RR languished eighth with just three wins.
