Virat Kohli is no stranger to the limelight, but this time, it wasn’t his batting that turned heads. During Day 3 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the former India captain grabbed attention with an on-field gesture that has sent social media into a frenzy.

Kohli’s Snake Pose: A Dig or Pure Coincidence?

Virat Kohli, known for his fiery and animated personality, struck a snake-like pose, leaving fans wondering if it was a jab at Bangladesh’s iconic 'Naagin Dance' celebration.

While Kohli didn’t have the best outing with the bat, scoring only 6 and 17 in his two innings, it was his antics in the field that stole the show.

As the battle between bat and ball raged on, Kohli’s seemingly playful snake pose quickly became the talking point, with fans speculating whether the Indian star was teasing the Bangladesh team.

Bangladesh's 'Naagin Dance' has become a well-known celebration in cricket, a trademark move that their players often perform during big victories.

Kohli’s snake-like pose, though not exactly resembling the Naagin Dance, was enough to get the rumour mill churning. Social media erupted with theories that Kohli was mimicking the dance as a playful taunt aimed at his opponents.

The usually intense Kohli seemed to be in a playful mood throughout the Test, despite his struggles with the bat. His animated gestures on the field, especially the snake pose, have become the latest addition to his repertoire of fiery on-field antics.

India on the Brink of Victory in Chennai Test

While Kohli’s snake pose may have captured the headlines, the Indian team has been in full control of the Test match. After setting Bangladesh a colossal target of 515 runs, India ended day three in the driver’s seat, with the visitors struggling at 158/4.

Ravichandran Ashwin, with his three wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah, with one, ensured that Bangladesh’s chase never gained momentum.

India’s dominance in the game was built on the back of brilliant centuries from Rishabh Pant (109) and Shubman Gill (119*), who rescued the team from an early collapse.

Their 167-run stand in the second innings followed strong performances by Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86) in the first innings, proving that India’s batting firepower runs deep.

As India closes in on a big win, Kohli’s snake pose remains one of the most talked-about moments of Day 3. Whether it was a cheeky reference to Bangladesh’s Naagin Dance or simply a spur-of-the-moment move, one thing is clear—Virat Kohli knows how to keep the crowd entertained, even when the runs aren’t flowing.
