Opening the batting for RCB, Kohli struck 70 runs off just 42 deliveries with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes.

The half-century that Kohli slammed last night was his 26th in the format at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Thus, the talismanic batter created a new record, registering the most number of fifties at a single venue in T20 cricket.

Virat Kohli also broke RCB legend Chris Gayle's record on the list of batters with the most fifty-plus scores in T20 cricket. While Gayle has 110 scores of fifty or more, Kohli brought up his 111th fifty-plus score with the glorious knock against RR last night. Currently, he is only behind David Warner, who has 117 fifty-plus scores in T20 cricket.
