As the completion of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir gradually begins to draw closer, plans are currently underway to hold a massive consecration ceremony a.k.a Pran Pratisththa ceremony. The temple reconstruction is progressing as per schedule and is expected to be completed sometime in January next year.

January 22, 2024, has been finalized as the date when the ceremony will be held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As per reports, the ceremony is expected to be held on a grand scale with over 8000 invited for this historic event from around the world.

Among the invitees, are two big stars of Indian Cricket most notably Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. The other big names to feature in the long list of invitees are actors Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, and industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Ratan Tata to name a few.


In addition, the event will also host over 25,000 Hindu saints from 136 Sanatan traditions. Out of the 8000 dignitaries, 6000 of them are religious leaders from the country whilst the remaining 2000 dignitaries are from other walks of life such as sports, cinema, music, business, etc. Moreover, widespread media coverage of the event has been planned as more than 10000 reporters are anticipated to arrive from all over the world to cover the historic event.

It remains to be seen whether Kohli will be able to attend this ceremony in January. India’s Test series against England also coincides with the ceremony during that time of the year. It is possible for Kohli to allocate time and participate in the ceremony, before swiftly returning to Hyderabad for the first Test match.
