One of modern cricket's best all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja celebrates his 35th birthday today. Jadeja made his international debut in 2009, and in a 14-year-long career, featured in 67 Tests, 197 ODIs, and 64 T20Is for India so far, bringing several accolades for the county, while amassing over 6,017 runs, and 546 wickets, across formats.

The all-rounder gained much-fame after his first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) season under Late Shane Warne-led Rajasthan Royals, who won the inaugural edition. However, success followed for Jadeja after the player switched alliances to Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where the qualities of a batter really came into the forefront under MS Dhoni's captaincy.

Jadeja's major international triumph came in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, where the all-rounder claimed 12 wickets in the tournament, helping India win the coveted title, winning the 'Man of the Match' in the final against England and 'Golden Ball' Award.

In ODIs, Jadeja became the No.1 Ranked Bowler in 2013, second Indian after Anil Kumble, further cementing his place in the format.

Over the years, Jadeja became an economical bowler and bettered his batting skills to achieve success in the Test, which came quite late, where the player became the quickest left-arm bowler to reach 200 red-ball wickets in 2019.

Apart from bowling and batting, Jadeja's expertise as a fielder has propelled him a cut above the rest and converted him into an ideal all-round player.

In 2023, Jadeja under immense pressure pulled CSK out of a ditch in the IPL Final against Gujarat Titans, scoring a match-winning 6-ball 15, which included a last-ball four, helping the franchise to their fifth domestic 20-over title.

In 226 IPL matches, the current CSK player has claimed 152 wickets, and scored 2,692 runs with two fifties between 2008 and 2023.

The 35-year-old will now be seen playing T20Is against hosts South Africa before squaring off against the same opponents in a two-Test series.
