Fast bowler Naseem Shah began his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore today, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on Wednesday. A strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist, and a doctor are treating him at NCA, Lahore. At the moment, he's working out and practicing bowling and will start batting tomorrow.

The premier fast bowler for Pakistan in all formats, Naseem, sustained an injury in September during the Asia Cup 2023 and subsequently had surgery in the UK. After the procedure, he spent two months recovering and receiving his first training in the UK. His medical expenses were paid for by the PCB, and he was under constant supervision from a group of highly qualified medical professionals.

Here's what PCB said about Naseem Shah

Naseem, 20, has already made a name for himself in international cricket. The format in which he exceeds the most thus far is ODIs, where he averages 16.96 by taking 32 wickets across 14 matches. Therefore, his absence in the recently-concluded World Cup in India was a major miss for Babar Azam's Men in Green.

In Tests, Naseem has 51 wickets in 17 matches, whereas 15 scalps are under his name in T20Is after 19 outings.

Naseem recently moved to Islamabad United from Quetta Gladiators for a whopping PKR 45 million. He will play a pivotal role for Shadab Khan and Co. for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), scheduled to get underway on February 8 and run till February 24.
