Former Indian fast bowler Vinay Kumar has been inducted into RCB’s Hall of Fame at the Unbox 2024 event in Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. 

The 40-year-old, who represented Team India in 41 international matches during his playing days, turned up for the RCB franchise in five seasons between the 2008 and 2013 editions of the IPL.

Kumar was facilitated by the RCB officials in front of a packed M. Chinnaswamy crowd on March 19, where he posed alongside the likes of RCB veterans Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and WPL 2024 winning skipper Smriti Mandhana.

Former Indian fast bowler Vinay Kumar was recognised by RCB for his services for the franchise during his playing days. 

The Karnataka speedster, who played 70 matches for RCB spanning five different IPL seasons, became the first Indian player to be inducted to their ‘Hall of Fame’ group and third overall after former cricketers Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.

On March 19, i.e., during RCB’s Unbox 2024 event in Bengaluru, the 40-year-old received his souvenirs and posed alongside several franchise officials and legendary active players like Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. 

Moreover, RCB’s WPL winning skipper Smriti Mandhana was also in attendance during Kumar’s felicitation event.

Vinay Kumar collected 80 of his 105 IPL career wickets while playing for the RCB franchise. Maintaining an impressive average of 24.77, the right-arm speedster is currently the third highest wicket-taker in RCB history behind the likes of now-deported Yuzvendra Chahal (139 wickets) and Harshal Patel (99 wickets).
