The Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite 2025-26 has reached its business end, with the semi-final teams confirmed following the event-packed and rain-filled quarter-final phase in Bengaluru.

Traditional heavyweights and consistent performers have booked their places in the last four, setting up two exciting knockout clashes. 

With form, momentum and depth all in play, the race for the title is wide open.

Karnataka will enjoy home conditions as they face a strong Vidarbha side, while Saurashtra take on a powerful Punjab team in what promises to be a high-scoring contest. 

All four teams have shown different strengths through the tournament, making the semi-finals evenly poised. 

Karnataka and Saurashtra booked their spots in the rain-affected games

Meanwhile, Karnataka sealed their semi-final berth with a 55-run VJD win over Mumbai in a rain-affected quarter-final. Batting first, Mumbai posted 254 for 8, with Shams Mulani top-scoring with 86. 

Karnataka’s bowlers shared the workload, with Vidyadhar Patil and Abhilash Shetty picking up three and two wickets respectively.

In reply, Karnataka were cruising at 187/1 in 33 overs when rain intervened. Devdutt Padikkal (81*) and Karun Nair (74*) stitched together a commanding unbeaten partnership. The VJD method eventually handed Karnataka a convincing win.

In the other rain-hit quarter-final, Saurashtra defeated Uttar Pradesh by 17 runs (VJD Method). UP had posted a strong 310/8, with Abhishek Goswami and Sameer Rizvi scoring 88 each. 

Saurashtra’s chase was anchored by skipper Harvik Desai, who remained unbeaten on 100, while Prerak Mankad added a fluent 67. When rain halted play at 238 for 3 in 40.1 overs, Saurashtra were well ahead of the required rate and were declared winners.

Punjab and Vidarbha power through with dominant wins

Additionally, Punjab produced one of the most commanding performances of the tournament, thrashing Madhya Pradesh by 183 runs. Batting first, Punjab piled on 345/6, with Prabhsimran Singh (88), Anmolpreet Singh (70) and Nehal Wadhera (56) leading the charge. 

In reply, Madhya Pradesh collapsed for 162 in 31.2 overs. Sanvir Singh starred with the ball, picking up three wickets, while Gurnoor Brar and Krish Bhagat chipped in with two each. 

Vidarbha also made a strong statement, beating Delhi by 76 runs. Vidarbha’s 300/9 was built around Yash Rathod’s classy 86 and Atharva Taide’s solid 62.

Delhi struggled in the chase, despite Anuj Rawat’s 66, and were bowled out for 224. Harsh Dubey was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.
