'Utsav Ki Taiyari Karo’: SKY Reacts To Sarfaraz Khan's Maiden India Call-Up vs ENG

In a moment of jubilation for the cricketing community, BCCI announced on Monday that Sarfaraz Khan, alongside Washington Sundar and Saurabh Kumar, earned his first call-up to the Indian team for the second England Test. The decision came after star players Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul were ruled out due to hamstring and quadriceps injuries, respectively.

Surya Kumar Yadav, took to Instagram to express his joy for his Mumbai Ranjhi teammate. Posting a picture on his story alongside Sarfaraz, Surya Kumar wrote: “Happiest here. Man India call up. Utsav ki taiyaarrii karo”, highlighting the camaraderie among the two players.

Sarfaraz Khan has been knocking on the national team's door with consistent performances in first-class cricket for a very long-time now. With impressive averages of 154, 122, and 91 in the last three Ranji Trophy editions, the 26-year-old has been a standout performer in the Indian cricket circuit since 2020. The trio's inclusion comes as a testament to their remarkable performances in the domestic circuit.

The second Test, scheduled to commence from February 2 onwards, at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, will witness changes in the Indian squad. With Jadeja and Rahul ruled out, India is expected to introduce Rajat Patidar, Washington Sundar, and possibly another spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

As England leads the 5-Test match series 1-0 after a victory in the first Test in Hyderabad, the anticipation surrounding Sarfaraz Khan’s potential debut adds an extra layer of excitement for Indian cricket fans.
