[Watch] Sarfaraz Khan's Father Reacts After Son Gets Much-Deserved Test Call-Up Vs ENG

Sarfaraz Khan, the leading run-getter in the Indian domestic circuit, finally received his maiden Test call-up for the England series earlier today, and the proud father Naushad Khan expressed his gratitude via a heartwarming social media post.

In the wake of injuries to KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, BCCI announced replacements in an official media release. Sarfaraz Khan and Washington Sundar were added to the Indian squad for the second Test against England scheduled at Visakhapatnam. 

Sarfaraz Khan has been the leading run scorer in the Indian domestic circuit for a while now. Runs have been flowing off his bat right, left, and center. However, despite commendable records, the batter was subject to constant snubs. He even expressed his disappointment via multiple cryptic posts on social media. 

Regardless, the Mumbai boy kept on fighting and recently trashed the England Lions in an unofficial series as a part of the India-A squad. Sarfaraz Khan scored a hundred and a fiery half-century in the first two Tests held in Ahmedabad. Subsequently, the batter received his long-awaited due. 

Sarfaraz Khan's father gets emotional

Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan's father, Naushad Khan, expressed his happiness via a social media post. He thanked the Mumbai Cricket Association for shaping Khan's professional cricketing journey. Naushad also expressed gratitude to BCCI and NCA for their constant backing and unconditional support.  

Last but not least, Naushad Khan acknowledged the fans' support, which helped the batter to continue the grind irrespective of circumstances. 

That being said, it would be interesting to see if Sarfaraz Khan actually makes it to the final playing XI since Rajat Patidar is being floated as an ideal choice.

But on the flip side, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer have been in horrendous form for a while now. Thus, the duo's lackluster could promote Khan's inclusion. Also, the final selection will depend a lot on the conditions of Visakhapatnam.
