In a nail-biting first Test match in Hyderabad, England secured a thrilling 28-run victory over India, claiming a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The highlight of the match was England's unorthodox batting approach, featuring sweeps, reverse sweeps, and reverse scoops executed to perfection.

The unconventional strategy left the Indian bowlers unsettled, prompting head coach Rahul Dravid to acknowledge the need to counter 'Bazball' for a series comeback.

After England's Ollie Pope showcased a magical performance with an impressive 196 in the second innings, sealing the unforgettable win, Dravid expressed astonishment at witnessing such consistent execution of unorthodox shots.

"We'll have to counter Bazball. It's important that we come up with some plans and strategies," Dravid emphasised.

Acknowledging the challenge posed by England's unorthodox batting, Dravid highlighted the crucial role of India's experienced spinners. The upcoming four Tests will test their ability to find ways to counter England's batters, who treat the reverse sweep as casually as the forward defensive.

Ollie Pope's outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award, solidifying England's dominance in the opening contest. As the cricketing world eagerly awaits the second Test, scheduled for February 2nd in Vishakapatnam, fans are anticipating whether India can effectively counter 'Bazball' and turn the tide in the series.
