The first session of day 1 of the first Test between India and Australia has been marred by controversy. Notably, India are 54/4 after lunch. KL Rahul, who was looking good with the bat, returned to the pavilion scoring 26 (74), which featured three fours.

On the 2nd ball of the 23rd over, the ball went past Rahul's defence, and the Australian team appealed for a caught behind, but the on-field umpire was unmoved and didn't raise his finger. Meanwhile, Pat Cummins opted for a review and the decision was over-turned.

Fans Slam On-field and Third Umpire In Perth Test

The replay and Snickometer showed a spike as the ball went past the ball, but the third umpire seemed to be in a hurry and did not check all the angles. The fans were upset over the decision as they felt that the spike was due to the bat hitting the pad.

It caused a stir as the fans and cricket pundits took to social media platforms to slam the third umpire for not covering all the angles. Even Rahul was upset while going towards the pavilion. Here are some of the reactions from the fans as they accused Australia of cheating.

Fans Slam The Exclusion Of Hotspot

Before the start of the match, there was great marketing of a 360-degree camera being used for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but no such technology was used to check whether KL Rahul edged the ball or not. It further angered the fans and reminded them of the 2008 Sydney Test.

Further, there was a lot of bashing for BCCI when Rishabh Pant was involved in a similar situation against New Zealand at home for not using hotspot, but a similar instance occured here in Perth.
