KL Rahul crossed 3000 runs in Test Cricket (Source:@TOneidiot/X.com)
KL Rahul made his Test debut in Australia during the 2014-15, and scored a century in just his second Test. It was in SCG, and though he has not been able to deliver consistently at the Test level, he is still one of India's reliable Test batter in overseas conditions. Now, in the first Test of the 2024-25 BGT, he has finally reached 3000 Test runs in his 92nd innings.
The stylish right-handed batter is playing his 54th Test match and after a gritty knock of 26 off 74 balls, he was dismissed by Mitchell Starc in the 23rd over of the match. KL Rahul hit three fours in his knock, and one of those was a lovely drive against Pat Cummins that helped him reach the 3000-run mark.
KL Rahul Falls After Decent Start In Perth Test
KL Rahul became the 26th Indian player to score 3000 Test runs for India and he has scored his runs at an average of 33.79. He has eight centuries and fifteen 50s in his career, and it is not a record that a quality Indian batter would be very proud of.
However, KL Rahul's centuries have come in testing conditions in Australia, England and South Africa. So, he has all the technqiue to deliver at the highest level in the toughest format, but has not lived upto his billing. KL Rahul also looked quite comfortable in the first session of the Perth Test, but once again could not convert his start as India ended the opening session with 51-4 in 25 overs.
