Legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli had a poor outing with the bat, as he was dismissed cheaply in the ongoing first Test of the five-match series against Australia. Coming at number four, Kohli managed only five runs before a rising delivery from Josh Hazlewood sent him back to the dugout. 

The incident occurred during the 17th over of the Indian innings after stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and opted to bat first. Australia had a magnificent start with the ball, with Mitchell Starc and Hazlewood dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal for ducks. As Kohli entered the Perth Stadium to steady the ship for his side, Hazlewood once again jolted India with a massive breakthrough, getting rid of Kohli with a stunning delivery. 

This was the fourth time the Australian speedster dismissed Kohli in a Test match. After the legendary batter departed, memes started to galore in social media, with fans expressing their disappointment over his dismissal.

Australian Pacers Leave India Tottering In Perth

As expected, the Australian fast bowlers capitalised on their home conditions to push India on the back foot early in the Test match. After getting Padikkal and Jaiswal for ducks, the hosts got rid of Kohli, wreaking havoc in the Indian camp. At the time of writing, India were reeling at 40 for three, with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant batting on 26* and 3*, respectively. Considering the track's seam-friendly behaviour, it will be a daunting task for the visitors to get their innings back on track.
