In what comes as shocking news, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has suspended three of its top officials with immediate effect. This includes president A. Jagan Mohan Rao, secretary R. Devraj, and treasurer C.J. Srinivas Rao after the apex body of the HCA decided to have an emergency meeting.

Major Controversy Erupts In HCA As Top Officials Suspended

The news coming from Hyderabad is that its top cricketing officials, president A. Jagan Mohan Rao, secretary R. Devraj, and treasurer C.J. Srinivas Rao have been suspended with immediate effect after allegations of fraud and serious misconduct were alleged.

Although this was on expected lines, previously the Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested Jagan Mohan Rao and others after they were suspected of forgery and misappropriation of funds, which is now under serious investigation by the department.

Now the HCA has released a statement mentioning that all three office bearers, who are in the custody of the crime department for various reasons, are now suspended without any further intimation.

"The Hyderabad Cricket Association remains committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability. This decision has been taken in the larger interest of safeguarding the association's credibility and ensuring that due process is followed in a fair and impartial manner," the press release mentioned.

Not just the CID, but the Enforcement Department (ED) is also involved in putting this under consideration, as some serious misconduct charges have been posed by the department.

In the absence of these three (President, Secretary, and Treasurer), the HCA has announced that Vice President Daljit Singh will now function as the acting president for the duration of the upcoming period.

Turmoil With SRH Proves Costly

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), has had a serious dispute with the HCA, especially the president Jagan Mohan Rao, as he was accused of intimidation, coercion, and blackmail for tickets and corporate boxes. The franchise wrote an official complaint to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The matter was related to ticket allocation and governance inside the HCA, as during the IPL season, there were many records of tickets being used personally by Jagan Mohan Rao, beyond what was given to him on a complimentary basis.

The concern with SRH was solved after the BCCI's intervention, as both parties agreed to co-exist without much trouble for the rest of the duration of the IPL, but the crime department was having none of it, as they ran through the HCA and found some major irregularities in the funds and the major documents.
