The dynamic left-hander will now not be available to represent the South Zone team in their semifinal match later this week. He has been replaced by young CSK star Shaik Rasheed. Nasum Ahmed, Tanzid Hasan Engineer Bangladesh’s Series Win
Bangladesh blanked Netherlands in the second T20I to clinch the three-match series with a game to spare in Sylhet. Fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed (2-22) and Mustafizur Rahman (2-18) picked up two wickets each in the innings, while spinner Nasum Ahmed picked up figures of 3-21 as Bangladesh wrapped up the entire Netherlands line-up for just 103 in 17.3 overs. In response, opening batter Tanzid Hasan punched out a majestic 54* from 40 balls and shared an unbeaten 64-run partnership with captain Litton Das to notch up Bangladesh’s winning runs.
Jamie Overton Announces Indefinite Break
England and CSK fast bowler Jamie Overton has announced an indefinite break from red-ball cricket. Overton’s decision means that the speedster will not be available to tour Australia later this year for the 2025-26 Ashes Test series. The 31-year-old last played red-ball cricket for England back in August through a Test match against India at The Oval.
Jamie Overton also played the entirety of The Hundred 2025 Men season for the London Spirit franchise, picking up eight wickets in the tournament at a bowling average of 21.37.
Pat Cummins Doubtful For Ashes 2025 Opener
Australian captain Pat Cummins is a doubtful starter for the upcoming 2025-26 Ashes Test series later this year. The legendary fast bowler is still struggling from his back injury, which has already ruled him out of international action off late. As reported by the Telegraph, Cummins underwent a few scans after complaining of back stiffness. The report further indicated that Cricket Australia is not willing to jeopardize Pat Cummins’ future, and the board is planning accordingly to manage the speedster’s workload. In all likeness, Steve Smith might lead Australia during the home Ashes in his absence.
Record 297 Percent For Women’s World Cup 2025
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record 297 percent prize money hike for the upcoming 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. The total prize money for the tournament now amounts to $13.88 million. The winner of the upcoming edition will receive $4.48 million, an increase by 239 percent from the winners of the previous Women’s World Cup. While the runners-up will be entitled to bag $2.24 million, the two semi-finalists will win $1.12 million each.
The 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is scheduled to launch from September 30 onwards with a match between tournament co-hosts India and Sri Lanka.
