Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the second match of the T20I series between Bangladesh and Netherlands, as it panned out at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Monday, September 1.
Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Cut Through Netherlands
Bangladesh bowlers collectively shot down Netherlands for just 103 in 17.3 overs after home captain Litton Das won the toss and opted to field first. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed struck twice in his first over, and his double-wicket burst was followed by early striking from fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman in their respective spells. Taskin (2-22) and Mustafizur (2-18) also added a wicket each to their tally during the slog overs.
Nasum Ahmed later returned to trap Paul van Meekeren, thus unfurling the spell of the evening with figures of 3-21 from four. Mahedi Hasan delivered the knockout blow in the form of number nine and Netherlands’ top-scorer Aryan Dutt (30 off 24).
Tanzid Hasan Anchors Easy Chase For Bangladesh
Chasing 104 runs, Bangladesh opener Parvez Hossain Emon made 23 from 21 balls during his 40-run opening partnership with Tanzid Hasan before nicking one towards Scott Edwards off Netherlands fast bowler Kyle Klein.
Tanzid ensured Bangladesh cruised past the finishing line without further casualty, as he took charge to smear 54 unbeaten runs from 40 balls with four boundaries and two sixes. His unbroken 64-run stand with captain and number three Litton Das (18*) ensured Bangladesh romped home with nine wickets and nearly seven overs intact.
