Indian cricketer Nitish Rana has, once again, shared a cryptic post following India's squad announcement for the tour of South Africa. Rana took to his social media handle and shared two similar images, one of which was blurred.

He wrote the caption as: “यकीन मानो, यह शाम भी गुजर जाएगी”, which translates to, 'Believe me, this evening too shall pass.'

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced India’s ODI, T20, and Test squads for the upcoming tour of South Africa. Suryakumar Yadav has been tasked with leading the T20 team, while KL Rahul will be at the helm of affairs in ODIs.

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the white-ball leg of the tour and will come back to join the Test squad. The former will lead the team in the two-match Test series.

Talking about the T20I side, a lot of young cricketers, namely Jaiswal, Gaikwad, Rinku Singh, etc., have been picked; however, Nitish Rana, once again, couldn’t find his name in the squad.

This is not the first time Rana has expressed his disappointment with his exclusion from the India squad. Earlier, he had shared similar cryptic posts after missing out on the T20I squads against the West Indies and South Africa last year.

Nitish Rana led KKR in the absence of Shreyas Iyer in the IPL this year. He managed to score 413 runs in 14 matches at an average of 31.77. The 29-year-old has represented India in 2 T20Is and 1 ODI so far in his international cricket career.

It will be interesting to see how he fares with the bat in the upcoming edition of the IPL for KKR. Meanwhile, India have claimed the T20I series against Australia by a 3-1 margin, with one game left to be played on Sunday.

Post that, the Men in Blue will depart for South Africa to play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and 2 Test matches, starting on December 10, 2023.
