Following the recent setback in the World Cup 2023 finals against Australia, the Indian cricket team is on a mission to uplift spirits with a series of impressive victories over the same opponent in the bilateral series. Despite the absence of several first-team players, the second-string side has managed to captivate fans and pundits alike. One standout performer who has captured attention in recent times is Mukesh Kumar.

While Mukesh Kumar may not be topping the wicket-taking charts with only one wicket to his name, his crafty deliveries, including intriguing slower balls and rapid yorkers, have consistently surprised the opposition. In recognition of his impactful performances, Zaheer Khan, former Indian pacer, has applauded Mukesh Kumar's efforts during the off-season, labeling his displays as "impressive." The bowler's ability to keep batsmen guessing has evidently earned him praise from one of the cricketing greats.

"Mukesh Kumar is the most impressive of the lot. There's no doubt about it. You get the feeling that he's been preparing for this kind of role. He's very clear with his thought process; he knows that he'll be bowling those tough overs at the back end, and those yorkers are coming out very nicely."

Commending Mukesh Kumar's precision in consistently delivering yorkers as needed, Zaheer Khan highlighted his notable performance in the first T20I. In a critical juncture where Australia was eyeing a score beyond 220, Mukesh Kumar conceded only 29 runs in his allotted four overs.

His final over, particularly impressive, saw him give away less than seven runs. Zaheer Khan emphasized that Mukesh Kumar's effectiveness in the death overs played a pivotal role, making the chase a bit more manageable for India. Speaking to the media, Zaheer Khan expressed:

He consistently bowled those yorkers, even in the previous game. Once you are backing game after game, that shows that you're growing in confidence

India will play Australia in the 3rd T20I at Guwahati on 28th November. India will look to seal the series whereas Australia would want to keep it alive by halving the deficit.
