Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was chuffed to bits with the all-round performance that her side displayed in the 2nd T20I against England that resulted in a thumping 8-wicket win for the tourists in Derby.

After being completely outplayed in the opening game on Sunday, the Women in Blue were right on the money from the word go, with Sneh Rana leading the charge with the ball and Radha Yadav in the field.

They did make a few lapses in the field but there was a marked, visible, improvement in their intent and body language.

Harmanpreet, who played a brilliant support role to the free-flowing Smriti Mandhana, with an unbeaten 22-ball 29, echoed the same at the post-match presentation.

Here's what Harmanpreet Kaur said:

It was a very good performance from the girls tonight. They showed great intent. We weren't at our best last game, but here we were, spot on. Yeah, it was a great performance. Our bowlers were good and got valid support from the fielders. Last match we couldn't field well. But, tonight it was a different approach by them."

Smriti Mandhana & Sneh Rana were the standout performers for India

Coming back to the game, India got off to a sensational start as their bowling-unit and brilliant fielding from Radha Yadav reduced England to 54/5 inside the first 10 overs.

However, Freya Kemp, alongside Maia Bouchier, led the hosts' revival, adding 65 runs in the next 8 overs.

Kemp hammered 3 fours and as many sixes to finish with an unbeaten 37-ball 51 while Maia scored a 26-ball 34 before being stumped off the bowling of Sneh Rana (3/24 in 4).

England eventually finished at 142/6 but it didn't bother India as Smriti Mandhana (79* off 53) ensured that the tourists strolled their way to an 8-wicket win.
