The County Championship Division Two witnessed three matches being continued at Hove, Lord's and Leicester. Here is a brief report on the exciting action on Tuesday (13 September). 


Sussex vs Worcestershire

Worcs started their day proceedings on 87/0 in Hove. The openers Ed Pollock and Jake Libby were proficient with their delightful strokes all around the park. The duo added 108 runs in the day before Pollock fell shy of two runs of his 12th first-class century. 

Soon, Azhar Ali (16) was dismissed by Jack Carson. Only 50 overs were possible on the Day due to bad light. Worcestershire is at 289/2, with Libby at 142*, while Jack Haynes is unbeaten on 14.

Middlesex vs Glamorgan

Middlesex commenced Day 2 on 132/4, while getting rocked by triple strikes in the latter part on Day 1. The experienced Mark Stoneman was in sublime touch to find boundaries 16 times, including a maximum, as he slammed 128. 

Only 45 overs of action took place in Day 2 at Lord's. In the end, John Simpson (72*) and Ryan Higgins (35*) have put Middlesex in a strong position.

Leicestershire vs Durham

Leicestershire were on frontfoot at the start of Day 2 on 97/2. However, Matthew Potts ran down their batting line-up in quick succession, with a support of Ben Raine. 

In the end, it was skipper Callum Parkinson (31) and Chris Wright (29) put up a strong fight to see Leicestershire posting 202 on the board. 

Durham, in response, started positively with the talented opening pair of Michael Jones and Sean Dickson adding 94 runs for the first wicket. Then Jones, with his bright form was exceptional, but was unfortunately dismissed on 97 by Parkinson. 

In the end, Durham are at 239/5, with Nic Maddinson (37*) and Raine (7*) at the crease.
