Shaheens lost to BAN-A by 5 runs (x.com)
Bangladesh A, with their unwavering determination, beat Pakistan Shaheens by 5 runs in the second unofficial Test in Darwin, Australia. The series ended as a tie after Pakistan's victory in the first match, a testament to the resilience of both teams.
Under the leadership of Sahibzada Farhan, Pakistan won the toss and invited the Tigers to bat first. The team put up a fighting score of 258 runs, with Mahmudul Hasan Joy's 69 and Aich Mollah's 55 stealing the show. Khurram Shahzad's impressive 3/69 for the Shaheens added to the thrill of the game.
In reply, Bangladesh bowlers did a fantastic job with the cherry by not allowing any Pakistan batter to cross the 50-run mark. Ripon Mondol and Rejaur Rahman Raja shared seven wickets between them.
After taking a 79-run lead, Bangladesh A's batters again scored over 200 runs, as Hasan Joy and Aich Mollah smashed their second half-centuries of the match. Mohammad Ali, the star in the recently concluded PSL, took a sensational six-wicket haul - but it eventually went in vain.
In the fourth innings of the four-day affair, Pakistan got a target of 296 runs, and the openers provided them a brilliant opening stand of 96 runs. However, Hasan Joy and Rahman Raja brought Bangladesh back into the game as the Pakistan middle and lower middle collapsed. Hasan Murad, too, bagged a couple of wickets as Bangladesh won by 5 runs.
The caravan will now move to the List-A rubber, as these two sides will play two unofficial ODIs starting on Sunday, August 4.
