In light of the recent rescheduling chaos for the upcoming World Cup 2023 matches, former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) head, Najam Sethi, took a sharp jibe at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Najam Sethi called out BCCI's scheduling decisions for World Cup 2023

The World Cup 2023 fixture changes have been a source of intense discussions, especially after security concerns led to the rescheduling of the marquee India-Pakistan match.

In a direct remark aimed at the BCCI, Sethi, who took over the reins of PCB's managing committee after the ousting of Ramiz Raja, expressed his thoughts on Twitter.

“@BCCI should have taken my advice re @TheRealPCB playing their WC games in a neutral country :) They are now in a mess with schedule tweaks being proposed every few days!” tweeted Sethi.

The nub of the World Cup 2023 scheduling dilemma originated from security concerns in Ahmedabad, leading to the rescheduling of the high-profile match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. This change created a domino effect, prompting further rescheduling, including the Pakistan-Sri Lanka clash.

Adding to the complications, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) recently put forth their apprehensions about the viability of hosting consecutive World Cup matches.

Their concerns revolve around both logistical and security considerations, especially given the magnitude and global attention these matches garner.

While speculations about another rescheduling are rife, official confirmation remains elusive. As the World Cup 2023 draws nearer, all eyes will be on the BCCI's next move to ensure a smooth and successful tournament which will be entirely played in India for the first time in history.
