On Thursday, October 31, Chennai Super Kings released their retention list for IPL 2025. Much to everyone's delight, MS Dhoni will participate for another season and has been retained as an uncapped star for four crores.

Talking about CSK's retention, their skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named the number one retention and will earn 18 crores. Apart from him, Matheesha Pathirana, Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja are the players who will be seen in Yellow jerseys for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, CSK dropped a new post on their Instagram handle dedicated to MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's Rise In Chennai Super Kings

It is worth noting that Gaikwad made his debut for Super Kings in 2020. He featured in six matches and impressed the critics. His breakout year was 2021 when he amassed 635 runs and averaged 45.35. 

In 2022, CSK retained Gaikwad for 6 crores. In 2024, MS Dhoni passed on the baton to Gaikwad and the latter became the new Super Kings' captain. Gaiwkad failed to impress in his maiden season as CSK skipper. 

However, the fans are hoping for Ruturaj to lead Chennai to their 6th IPL title this season and give a perfect farewell to MS Dhoni, who is most likely featuring in his final IPL season. 

It is to be seen who will be Gaikwad's opening partner for IPL 2025 as CSK have released Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra.
