Sophia Dunkley's dominating show helps Southern Brave stay at the top with four wins from four matches after victory against Welsh Fire by 14 runs.

Welsh skipper Tammy Beaumont won the toss and opted to bowl first against a robust Brave side in Cardiff, Wales.

Losing the first wicket of Smriti Mandhana on 28, Brave were then led by Dunkley, who managed and paced her innings well to give her team a solid platform. Meanwhile, Brave kept losing wickets from the other end at regular intervals but were still in the game.

Except for Dunkley, the only one to cross 20 was Georgia Adams, who could manage 25 from 16 deliveries providing her team with a stable ending. Bowlers went well in their spell, with most of them claiming a wicket and Hayley Mathews scalping two for 26 runs.

Ultimately, the Southern side could only reach 122 for eight, which felt under par.

Welsh Fire innings went downhill against Brave's bowlers

Skipper Anya Shrubsole after she recorded figures of 3/20, marched her troops to another impressive win.

Coming in to bat, Beaumont lost her wicket on the ninth ball of the innings to Lauren Bell (2/17), and after her, Hayley Mathews and Annabel Sutherland forged a 31-run partnership to give them the much-needed effort.

Following their dismissal, only Sarah Bryce (28) did some damage to the opponent, but it wasn't enough as they fell short by 14 runs. George Adams were too among the wickets with 2/13 to her name.
