United Arab Emirates (UAE) secured a 47-run victory over Singapore (SIN) in Match 3 of the Asia Cup 2022 Qualifiers at Al Amerat Cricket Ground.

The combined effort from batters as well as bowlers helped Emirates to find a place at the top position in the points table.

Muhammad Waseem steers UAE to a competitive total

Invited to bat first, UAE lost its key player Chirag Suri (0) in the fourth over. However, the in-form Muhammad Waseem was flawless with his ability to release the pressure by counter-attacking the bowlers.

Janak Prakash was the most successful bowler for Singapore with three scalps.

Siddique, Meiyappan skittles Singapore batting line-up

In response, opener Surendra Chandramohan (0) could not provide a good start to the team. It was the resilience and power hitting from Aritra Dutta (42 off 29) which helped Singapore to still remain in the hunt to chase a stiff total.

However, Junaid Siddique and Karthik Meiyappan ran down the entire batting unit of Singapore to secure a thumping victory for UAE by 47 runs.
