Mohammad Naim celebrates birthday with national call-up

The Dhaka-based batsman played the last of his 22 T20Is for his country in March earlier this year. Notably, the cricketer received the news of his return to the national side on his 23rd birthday.

He is set to replace Hasan Mahmud after the pacer was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury on his right ankle. The speedster sustained the injury during a training session on August 20 and will now have to miss three weeks of action.

Meanwhile, Naim himself was part of the Bangladesh A side during their recent tour of the West Indies. The left-handed batter scored 106 runs in three List A innings against the hosts at Gros Islet, with the highlight of the tour being his match-winning 103 at the top of the order in the second game.
