Big-hitting Australian Glenn Maxwell unleashed a 120*-run thunderclap on West Indies bowlers in match number two of their T20I series at the Adelaide Oval. The cricketer crashed 12 boundaries and eight sixes in his 55-ball whirlwind knock and stormed Australia to a monumental 241-run total upfront.

Maxwell’s knock also marked his fifth T20I hundred, as he levelled up with Indian captain Rohit Sharma in terms of holding most centuries in the format.

The Australian white-ball veteran also seems to have won over world number one ranked T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav, as the latter expressed his admiration on social media after witnessing the cricketer’s brutal onslaught against West Indies.

Suryakumar Yadav in awe of Glenn Maxwell’s fury

Indian T20I veteran and world number one ranked batsman Suryakumar Yadav expressed his admiration for Glenn Maxwell upon witnessing the latter’s six-hitting fury on West Indies at the Adelaide Oval.

After Australia walloped the visitors by 34 runs off the back of Maxwell’s record-levelling ton, Suryakumar took to his Instagram account and shared a picture of the hard-hitting Australian batsman. In the caption, the senior Indian cricketer wrote:“Perfect Sunday entertainment. Oh boy”.

Glenn Maxwell was fittingly adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’ for his efforts, while Australia reaped the benefits of his all-out assault against the visitors. Under Mitchell Marsh’s interim leadership, the hosts also went 2-0 up in their three-match series.

Maxwell will now turn up for his country in the third and final T20I of the series at the Perth Stadium on February 13.
