As expected, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the T20I squad for the upcoming 5-match series against Australia.
Suryakumar Yadav, who was a part of India's World Cup 2023 campaign will lead the Indian side and Ruturaj Gaikwad will be his deputy for the first three matches.
Interestingly, most of the players, who were a part of the World Cup squad have been given a rest and the team that won the Asian Games under the leadership of Gaikwad have been given a nod for this series.
The BCCI have also reported that Shreyas Iyer will make a comeback in the series for the last two matches, and will take over the vice-captaincy duties from Gaikwad.
The batting has been bolstered with stars like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh. Meanwhile, the likes of Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar will form the core of the all-rounders.
The bowling department will be led by Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravi Bishnoi, as Team India embark on the journey to beat an in-form Australian team.
The first T20I takes place in Visakhapatnam on November 23, and the series will be concluded with the 5th T20I in Bengaluru.
