Sunil Gavaskar Predicts Winner Of RR Vs RCB IPL Eliminator; Expects To Be 'One-Sided' Match

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) journey to the playoffs has been nothing short of remarkable. The team found itself on the brink of elimination after losing seven of their first eight games. 

However, under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis, RCB made a strong comeback, securing a playoff spot by knocking out the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last encounter by 27 runs. 

Sunil Gavaskar Supports RCB Ahead Of RR Match

Ahead of the match against Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator match, Sunil Gavaskar has praised RCB for their impressive comeback in the ongoing IPL 2024 season, expressing confidence in their ability to triumph over Sanju Samson & Co. set to take place in Ahmedabad on May 22, 2024. 

"I think what RCB have done has been absolutely phenomenal, nothing short of phenomenal. Firstly, to believe that they can bounce back. And you have to say that the leading players over there Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, they were probably the guys who are most encouraging the other team members. " Sunil Gavaskar said while speaking at Star Sports.

RCB's journey so far, in the IPL has been impressive with significant contributions from captain Faf du Plessis along with Virat Kohli, who has been in commendable form with the proud holder of the Orange Cap. 

Rajat Patidar has also been crucial, contributing consistently with five half-centuries this season. Despite the mid-season departure of England's Will Jacks, RCB has maintained their momentum. Veteran Dinesh Karthik has been a key performer lower down the order.

 In their last match, left-arm seamer Yash Dayal delivered a clutch performance, bowling an exceptional final over against CSK to secure RCB's place in the playoffs.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals' journey in the IPL 2024 season started with promise, positioning them as strong contenders for the top spot in the league stage. 

However, a string of four defeats and a washout in their final game against KKR saw them slip to third place behind Hyderabad. Despite being favourites just weeks ago, they now find themselves as underdogs.
