In what was supposed to be a confident and reassuring performance ahead of the Adelaide Test, Rohit Sharma's early exit left fans in disbelief and frustration. With the dismissal of Jaiswal and KL Rahul being retired hurt Rohit walked in at No. 4. The expectation from skipper was to stabilise the innings and guide the team closer to the target of 240. However, his stay at the crease lasted for just 11 balls. 

Rohit Sharma departed in the 21st over of India's second innings, he faced a ball from Charlie Anderson that moved away slightly. Despite appearing uncomfortable from the outset with the pink ball, Rohit attempted to drive the ball outside off-stump. The ball went straight into the hands of first slip, where Oliver Davies made no mistake.

After his dismissal what followed next was a flood of reactions on social media, where fans didn't hold back in voicing their frustration over the shot selection and overall form of the skipper. Many fans pointed out the lapse in judgment, especially considering the challenging conditions of playing with the pink ball under lights. The reaction on Twitter ranged from blunt criticism to sarcastic memes.

 







As social media reactions continue to pour in, many fans are still holding out hope that this failure is merely a blip and that Rohit will quickly bounce back in the second match of BGT. At the time of writing, after Rohit's wicket Shubman Gill and Nitish Reddy have tried to stabilise the innings with India currently at 137/2.
