In a nail-biting finish to the 35th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, the Deccan Gladiators triumphed over the Delhi Bulls by just 3 runs, with Anrich Nortje standing out as the star bowler for the Gladiators.

A standout spell came from spinner Usman Tariq, who entered the game as an impact player and stunned Rovman Powell with a rather trappy delivery that caught him for a LBW.

Tariq Stuns Powell

Usman Tariq showcased his skill by dismissing Powell with a perfectly executed delivery. In the sixth over of the Delhi Bulls' chase, he bowled a fast delivery on a good length around the off-stump. The ball darted in sharply, catching Powell completely off guard.

Caught in the middle of the pitch, Rovman Powell misjudged the turn and saw the ball crash into his front pad. Tariq's confident appeal was immediately backed by the umpire's raised finger, leaving no doubt about the decision. Surprisingly, Powell opted not to review it and walked back to the pavilion without hesitation.

Deccan Gladiators Pulls Off Nail-Biting Thriller Against Delhi Bulls

Choosing to bat first, the Nicholas Pooran-led side posted a respectable total of 102 runs for 5 wickets. The skipper and Tom Kohler-Cadmore made significant contributions, helping push the score beyond the 100-run mark. Delhi Bulls' Shahid Bhutta and Salman Irshad each took two wickets, breaking the Gladiators' momentum at critical moments.

In response, the Bulls struggled to surpass the Gladiators' total. James Vince was dismissed by Usman Tariq after scoring 20 runs, while Tom Banton contributed 29 runs. Skipper Rovman Powell had a disappointing outing, managing only 4 runs. 

Notably, Anrich Nortje delivered a solid bowling performance for the Bulls, finishing with figures of 15 runs for 3 wickets. Tariq also contributed with two wickets. In the tense final over, Zahoor Khan defended the 14 runs that the Bulls needed off 6 balls to secure the victory.
