Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ravaged Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a lop-sided final at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium to lift the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 trophy on May 26.

Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz played starring roles with the bat after fast bowlers Mitchell Starc, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora collectively restricted SRH’s famed batting line-up to 113 upfront.

As KKR players were rejoicing their title victory during the post-match presentation ceremony, franchise co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan hilariously urged his troops to mimic Harshit Rana’s unique celebration style.

KKR players celebrate IPL 2024 win with ‘flying kiss’

KKR fast bowler Harshit Rana made a name for himself this IPL 2024 season through his fast-bowling pedigree and unique celebration styles. Earlier this tournament, the 22-year-old gave a ‘flying kiss’ sendoff to SRH’s Mayank Agarwal, only to walk away with a warning.

However, Rana replicated his controversial celebration style after dismissing Delhi Capitals’ Abhishek Porel later in the season. The IPL governing committee took note of his repeated offence and banned him for a match for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.

While Harshit Rana eventually made a successful return to KKR’s group, he was constantly teased by his teammates, with players like Nitish Rana jokingly requesting the fast bowler to recreate his celebration.

After KKR lifted the IPL 2024 trophy in Chennai, franchise co-owner Shahrukh Khan himself decided to join in Harshit’s controversial style as part of his team’s post-match celebration. As KKR players gathered around the IPL 2024 trophy, the Bollywood superstar urged his troops to mimic Rana’s style, thus igniting much laughter from the entire group.

Harshit Rana snapped up 19 wickets this IPL 2024 season at an impressive average of 20.15. His wicket-taking spree, coupled with Andre Russell and Varun Chakravarthy’s contributions with the ball helped KKR seal their third IPL trophy and first in nearly a decade.
