'He Showed That...,' Mitchell Starc Reveals How Bumrah Inspired Him That Led To KKR's IPL 2024 Win

IPL and KKR’s most expensive buy, Mitchell Starc has undeniably faced the scrutiny from critics and people when he initially failed to live up to the expectations with his so-so performances. 

In the post match interview after KKR’s 3rd title win, Starc addressed those remarks and talked about how the he used Jasprit Bumrah bowling blueprint to somewhat turn the tide.

Here's what he said:

"Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the best in the world for a long time. He certainly showed that he found a way to not go for runs and take wickets as well."

It is more than safe to say that Bumrah is a 'one of a kind' bowler. There is no format that he has not conquered with his brilliance. 

The right arm medium pacer has 280 T20 wickets with a stunning economy of 6.98 and this is exactly what Starc talked about how Bumrah has time and again showed his ability to pick wickets and restrict the opposition to under par totals.

In the IPL final, KKR stood tall against their rivals SRH, courtesy of the Aussie star, who stepped up and removed Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi and even caught two of the most crucial catches one of Aiden Markram and Pat Cummins.

It is because of his sensible bowling that KKR managed to restrict SRH to just 113 runs.He scalped 2 wickets while giving away just 14 runs with an outstanding economy of 4.70.
