Zimbabwe have announced a young 17-member squad for the five-match T20I series against India. The Belgium-born Naqvi Antum has also been selected in the Sikandar Raza-led squad which does not include big names like Craig Ervine, Sean Williams and Ryan Burl.

The likes of Tendai Chatara, Milton Shumba, Wesley Madhevere are among the players who have made comeback to the squad and Zimbabwe would be hoping that the young squad delivers against an equally young Indian squad.

Also, this will be the first series for Zimbabwe head coach Justin Sammons who replaced Dave Houghton after Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Also, the selection of Sikandar Raza and his retention of captain means that the star all-rounder is ready to play the next T20 World Cup if Zimbabwe qualify, which is a good sign for the African nation as he brings load of experience and skills and would have to play a big role in the young team as they try to build towards the T20 World Cup in India.
