Saim Ayub and Azam Khan are two of the highly rated young batters in T20 cricket from Pakistan, but they could not perform in T20 World Cup, and now have been denied NOC for CPL 2024 as well as PCB's policy restricts centrally and domestically contracted players from participating in more than two overseas leagues annually.

Both the batters have been retained by their respective CPL teams, but they would now have to find the replacements ahead of the season, which is scheduled to start on 30th of August. Along with the contract policy, PCB also retains the right to refuse an NOC to maintain player's fitness and workload.

Also, incase the player is needed for domestic duties, his NOC for an overseas franchise league can be withheld. Both Saim Ayub and Azam Khan played for Guyana in the last season, and Ayub grabbed plenty of headlines with his power-hitting and consistency at the top of the order.

However, at the international level, both players have not been able to deliver to their billing, and PCB would be hoping that they translate their talent into performances at the national level as well with some wholesome changes expected in the Pakistan side after the group stage exit in T20 World Cup 2024.
