Shubman Gill Ton Catalyse India’s 3-0 Sweep Over ENG
Team India crushed England by 142 runs at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium to complete a 3-0 series sweep. Opening batter Shubman Gill notched up his seventh ODI century, and shared 100-plus partnerships with half-centurions Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer to push India to 356 from 50 overs after England skipper Jos Buttler opted to field first.
In response, England’s chase crumbled up for just 214, with 38 runs each from Tom Banton and Gus Atkinson turning out to be the biggest benefactors for the visitors. For India, fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Hardik Pandya as well as spinner Axar Patel all picked up two wickets apiece.
Virat Kohli Fastest To Scale 16K In Asia, Goes Past Sangakkara
Virat Kohli scored 52 runs from 55 balls against England in the third ODI in Ahmedabad. Through the course of the innings, the legendary Indian batter completed 16,000 international runs in Asia, becoming only the fourth cricketer in history to scale the landmark figure and the fastest among them all. Kohli achieved the feat in just his 340th international innings in Asia, surpassing the 410-inning record previously set by former Sri Lankan captain and legendary batter Kumar Sangakkara.
Kohli’s tally in Asia currently reads a staggering 16,025 runs at an average of 56.82.
Asalanka, Theekshana Stun Australia As Sri Lanka Take 1-0 Lead
Sri Lanka stunned Australia by 49 runs at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match ODI series. Captain Charith Asalanka led the hosts from the front, composing 127 of his team’s 214 runs upfront after winning the toss and opting to bat first.
Chasing 215, the Australian top-order crashed to 31-4 before attaining some momentum with Alex Carey’s 41. However, a four-wicket haul from off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana (4-40) and a couple of wickets each from Asitha Fernando and Dunith Wellalage skittled out the Australians for just 165.
Rizwan, Agha Salman Tons Take Pakistan To Tri-Series Final
Pakistan chased down South Africa’s 352-run total with relative ease in the third ODI of the tri-series at the National Stadium in Karachi. Batting first, the Proteas hauled 352-5 courtesy of fluent 80s from captain Temba Bavuma, number three Matthew Breetzke and blistering wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen.
In response, Pakistan slipped to 91-3 before a match-defining 260-run partnership from centurions Mohammad Rizwan (122*) and Agha Salman (134) guided Pakistan to a six-wicket win with an over to spare. The ‘Men in Green’ also qualified for the tri-series final, and will now face New Zealand on February 14.

The RCB franchise is poised to announce a new captain for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. As per reports, the franchise will be making the announcement on Thursday, February 13. Notably, former captain and senior pro Virat Kohli has emerged as one of the frontrunners to take over the leadership responsibility from Faf du Plessis, considering the latter was released by the franchise last year prior to the IPL 2025 mega auction.
