The BCCI has announced the squads for the India A tour of Australia, scheduled to take place in August. The tour includes three T20Is, three one-day games and one four-day encounter.
The squad for one-day games and a four-day match is the same, while the T20 squad has some different names. Both teams will be led by Radha Yadav, while Shafali Verma, who has not been part of the ODI team in recent times, has also been included in both squads.
Shreyanka Patil And Priya Mishra Await Fitness Clearance
Interestingly, Shreyanka Patil has also been included in the T20 squad. She has not played any cricket since her injury in October 2024, and this current selection is also subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
If she does get clearance, her return to full fitness is great news for the all-rounder who has missed some big tournaments like the T20 World Cup 2024 and WPL. Priya Mishra, the talented leggie, is another player whose inclusion is subject to fitness. She is not in the T20 squad but is likely to play one-day games.
Overall, the India A tour is a good opportunity for players pushing for a place in the senior side. Minnu Mani is the vice-captain of the side, while the likes of Saima Thakor, Titas Sadhu and Unma Chetry are part of both squads.
The tour will start with T20Is on August 7 and will finish with a four-day game at the Allan Border field on 24th of the same month.
