Pakistan’s emerging batter Khawaja Nafay, veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik, and former spinner Saeed Ajmal are set to light up the Canada Super 60, a landmark cricket tournament to be held from October 8 to 13 at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. The event will feature six teams and mark the first time international cricket of such scale will be played indoors, under lights, in Canada’s West Coast.

Ajmal joins Mississauga Masters, Malik, Nafay sign for Whiterock Warriors

The line-ups for all six franchises have been finalised, with Saeed Ajmal representing Mississauga Masters, while Malik and Nafay will turn out for Whiterock Warriors. The ten-over-a-side format promises high-intensity action, attracting both global stars and emerging talents.

The 22-year-old Khawaja Nafay has already showcased his talent in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL). He scored 214 runs in eight BPL games at a strike rate of 135.44, including three fifties. In the PSL, he added 234 runs in 12 games at a strike rate of 130.00. Nafay recently featured for Pakistan Shaheens in the Top End T20 Series, highlighted by a fluent 61 against Bangladesh ‘A’.

At 42, former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik remains one of the most seasoned T20 cricketers in history. Across 557 matches, he has scored 13,571 runs at a strike rate of 127.24, including 83 half-centuries. He stands fifth on the all-time T20 run-scorers list, making him a marquee name for the competition.

Although retired, Saeed Ajmal remains one of Pakistan’s greatest spinners in the shorter format. In 64 T20Is, he bagged 85 wickets at a miserly 6.36 economy rate. His franchise career included stints in the PSL, BPL, and Australia’s Big Bash League. Ajmal’s presence adds variety and experience to the Canada Super 60 roster.
