On Monday, September 1, IPL's defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took to social media to update fans about their new initiative 'RCB Cares'. Notably, RCB have started 'RCB Cares' as an initiative to help their fans, following the tragic loss of eleven lives during the victory parade on June 4.

In first, the Challengers announced a 25 lakh relief fund for each member who lost their life in the stampede. In the latest events, RCB laid down the benefits of RCB cares, which include financial aid, crowd safety, and also a living tribute to their 12th army.

RCB Announces Key Features Of 'RCB Cares' Initiative

"RCB Cares is our long-term commitment to support, empower and elevate our 12th Man Army, through meaningful action.

  • Provide support that goes beyond financial aid - Ensure Fast, Transparent and human support to fans and families impacted
  • Build safe & inclusive environments - Work closely with stadium authorities to design better crowd management protocols
  • Empower communities with real opportunities - Start social development programs
  • Invest in independent research on crowd safety - Create a fan safety audit framework
  • Elevate fan memory into something permanent - A dedicated space in Bengaluru to honour the victims in a living tribute
  • Build futures through sport - Create in-stadia jobs

This is our promise to every fan who has stood by RCB through every high, every heartbreak," tweeted RCB.

Chinnaswamy Stadium Replaced For ICC Women's World Cup

Following the stampede, the government didn't deemed the Chinnaswamy Stadium fit to host games, which is why the ICC Women's World Cup will now take place at Navi Mumbai Stadium.

As confirmed by the ICC, the Women's World Cup matches that were scheduled at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will now be hosted by the DY Patil Stadium. Therefore, the venue in Navi Mumbai is set to host up to five matches, including three league-stage fixtures, one semifinal clash and potentially the final unless Pakistan Women qualify for the ultimate clash.

Not just World Cup, but the Maharaja Trophy too was moved out of the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
