Shivam Dube bagged a unique milestone for the second consecutive occasion in the T20I series against Afghanistan and joined an esteemed list featuring Indian greats Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh on Sunday (January 14).

The backup all-rounder became the third Indian player in T20I history to produce a half-century and also take a wicket for his team on two or more occasions. Previously, only white-ball legends Yuvraj and Kohli held their place on this rare list.

Dube, who had delivered a spell of 1/9 off his 2 overs while scoring an unbeaten 60 off 40 balls in the first T20I in Mohali, backed his magnificent performance with figures of 1/36 and a knock of 63* off 32 deliveries in the penultimate game of the series in Indore.

With his successive all-round display to help India take an unassailable lead in the three-match series, Dube joined a rare list of Indian players with a half-century made and a wicket taken on two occasions in T20I history.

The Mumbaikar matched Kohli's tally against Afghanistan, with the Indian legend coming up with this all-round feat in two previous instances, including famously against arch-rivals Pakistan at the 2012 edition of the T20 World Cup in Mirpur.

Yuvraj, however, retains the top spot in the unique feat, with three such instances next to his name during the cricketer's heyday. The swashbuckling middle-order left-hander, a handy part-time spinner, bags the record for most instances of a half-century plus a wicket or more in the shortest format.

Dube would be taking inspiration from the two greats as he looks to further bolster his allround stocks with another eye-catching performance in the third and final T20I of the series on Wednesday (January 17) in Bangalore.
