Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Shivam Dube continued to make his impact with the bat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against Gujarat Titans at the Chepauk stadium on Tuesday.

Dube, who stepped into bat after the dismissal of Ajinkya Rahane, continued to add to the CSK run-scoring rate with his colossal hitting. In the 11th over, the left-handed batter dispatched the floated-up second delivery from Gujarat Titans spinner for a maximum over long-on and followed it up by hitting a fuller ball over deep mid-wicket for two consecutive sixes

In the process, Dube lifted the decibel level at Chepauk to 127 as the local crowd rallied behind the powerful striker. Incidentally, it is also one of the highest decibels recorded at the Chepauk in the ongoing edition of the lucrative tournament.

Dube's fireworks guided CSK to a challenging total of 206/6 in the stipulated 20 overs after being put into bat. He was the highest run scorer for the home franchise, contributing 51 runs off 23 deliveries, which included two boundaries and five hits over the fence. In doing so, the 30-year-old recorded a phenomenal strike rate of 221.74.

He, incidentally, carried on his form from the previous match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) where he played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 28 deliveries after being introduced as an impact sub to guide his side to a six-wicket victory.
