In a concerning update for cricket fans, star batter Suryakumar Yadav, fondly known as SKY, faces an uncertain future regarding his participation in Mumbai Indians(MI) upcoming clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) in IPL 2024 this Wednesday.

The 33-year-old player has yet to secure a fitness certificate from the National Cricket Academy, so he won't be available to represent MI this Wednesday.

SKY's absence is a significant blow to Mumbai Indians, who already suffered a setback in their first match against Gujarat Titans.

Despite undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy for an ankle injury sustained during the T20I series against South Africa, SKY's journey back to the field seems delayed as he awaits clearance.

The Mumbai camp, though hopeful for SKY's swift recovery, has not officially announced any potential replacements for him.

His absence not only impacts Mumbai Indians' batting lineup but also leaves fans eagerly anticipating his return to the IPL stage, where he has been a vital member for the past six seasons.

Reports suggest SKY underwent surgery for a sports hernia, further complicating his road to recovery.

With uncertainties looming over his fitness, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is taking a cautious approach, ensuring SKY's well-being before his return to competitive cricket.

SKY's recent stint as India's T20I captain was cut short due to injuries, highlighting the significance of his role in the team's lineup. However, with the T20 World Cup 2024 on the horizon, both SKY and Indian cricket fans are keen on his timely recovery.
