The upcoming second ODI between Pakistan and South Africa presents an exciting opportunity for Shaheen Shah Afridi to surpass legendary Shoaib Akhtar's record of most wickets for Pakistan against South Africa across all formats. The two are currently tied down having picked up 46 wickets.

Afridi, who recently surpassed Shahid Afridi's record of most wickets for Pakistan against South Africa across all formats, is also just two wickets away from Wasim Akram's record, who has 48 wickets under his belt.

What happened in PAK vs SA 1st ODI?

Pakistan won a thrilling first ODI against South Africa, chasing down 240 on the last ball. After winning the toss, South Africa batted first and got off to a solid start with Tony de Zorzi and Ryan Rickelton. However, Agha Salman's sensational four-wicket spell put the Proteas on the back foot, dismissing de Zorzi, Rickelton, Stubbs, and van der Dussen. Heinrich Klaasen fought hard, making 86 before falling to Shaheen Afridi.

Pakistan's chase was bumpy. They lost early wickets, with Abdullah Shafique being dismissed for a duck and Babar Azam for 17. However, Saim Ayub (100*) and Agha Salman (50*) rescued the team with a 141-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Agha hit the winning runs in the final over to win the match by three wickets. Meanwhile, Rabada and Baartman took two wickets each for South Africa.
