Pakistan's prominent speedster Shaheen Afridi has witnessed a massive decline in the updated ICC T20I rankings. On Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the latest ICC rankings across three formats of the game. Surprisingly, none of the Pakistani players were in the top ten in the T20I bowlers rankings.
Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf Move Down In T20I Rankings
Pakistan's prominent fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have slipped down in the ICC rankings following their underwhelming performance in the South Africa series. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan suffered a two-nil T20I series defeat against South Africa. While Babar Azam and skipper Rizwan let the visitors down with their middling returns, Shaheen Afridi had a disappointing outing in the second T20I in Centurion.
As a result, Shaheen has moved down one place to claim the 21st position in the bowlers rankings. On the other hand, Haris Rauf, who went wicketless in two consecutive matches, has gone three places down to the 26th spot. It's worth mentioning that Shaheen claims the second position in the ODI bowlers rankings.
Rizwan Goes Down, Babar Moves Up In Batters Rankings
Regarding Pakistan's batters, Babar Azam has progressed one place up to number six, while skipper Mohammad Rizwan has moved down two positions to eighth in the T20I rankings.
Despite getting out cheaply in the first One-Day International against South Africa, Babar Azam continues to top the ODI batters rankings. The Lahore-born cricketer is followed by Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, who claim the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
