Sanju Samson has always been considered as a talented batter but there were complaints that he does not convert his talent into performances on the field quite often. However, the move at the top of the order in T20Is has worked wonders for the Kerala lad. He hit a century in the third T20I against Bangladesh and followed it up with another century in the first T20I against South Africa. He bagged two ducks after that, but he has now finished off the series on a high with a swashbuckling century of just 51 balls.

Sanju Samson batted cautiously in the first over, but then started the carnage with a six in the second over against Gerald Coetzee. Samson continued to go after the bowlers after that and got to his fifty in just 28 balls. Samson slowed down a bit close to his century, but the brutal hitting he did before that ensured that he get to his hundred almost at a strike rate of 200.

Tilak Varma Slams Consecutive T20I Tons

He ended the innings with an unbeaten 109 off just 56 balls which included nine sixes and six fours. Tilak Varma, on the other hand was also batting at his best and he scored 120 off just 47 balls. It was his second consecutive hundred for India in T20Is and it is the first instance where two batters have scored a century in a T20I match between two full member nations, third overall.

The onslaught by both the batters helped India reach 283 in their 20 overs as they lost only one wicket. The wicket of Abhishek Sharma fell on 73, and the duo then stitched a stand of 210 runs which is the highest for India for any wicket against any country in T20Is.
